REF / SKU:
This limited edition of the Skindiver "Worldtimer" tool-watch pays tribute and celebrates the 60-year anniversary of the flight 64 of the X-15 experimental plane and features an engraving of this legendary aircraft on its caseback.
This Skindiver WT Professional tool-watch features a black dial with green C7 Super-LumiNova®, the iconic hour arrow hand, an Hesalite glass and a steel case with a black PVD treated bezel - water resistant to 120m.
This mechanical wristwatch - powered by the Japanese automatic movement Citizen/Miyota 8315 with a 60-hour power reserve (approx.) - is presented on a nylon & leather strap equipped with a black leather bund-plate.
This mix of features from a diving watch and a pilot watch makes it the kind of tool-watch a NASA engineer and test pilot would choose and operate.
SKINDIVER WT PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW
NEIL ARMSTRONG'S TOOL-WATCH
As many pilots, astronauts or regular men and women through the 1960s and 1970s owning a personal, extra back-up watch on top of your standard issued time instrument was common sense and practice.
And for that, Neil Armstrong selected and wielded a readable and efficient timepiece: The Skindiver “Worldtimer”.
Neil's tool-watch was auctioned and authenticated in 2019. By the look of it - wear and tears, faded marking on the bezel, along with a replacement military specs nylon strap - it did not stay in a drawer.

SKINDIVER WT PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW
THE X-15 HYPERSONIC ROCKET-POWERED AIRCRAFT
At the dawn of the space race, before men looked up to the Moon, the first frontier was outer space. In 1960, to carry on aerodynamic researches, NASA engineers defined the requirements for an ultimate plane: a hypersonic rocket-powered aircraft capable of near space flight. The X-15 program was born.
From 1959 to 1968, through 199 flights reaching the maximum altitude of 107.8 km (67.0 mi) and the top speed of 6,206 km/h (3,856 mph), NASA’s X-15 experimental planes laid the ground work for spacecraft navigation. The 12 test pilots from the program were from the US Air Force and NASA.
Among these audacious and highly skilled pioneers was the man who would set the first foot on the Moon in 1969: Neil Alden Armstrong.

HEXAPLEX® WATCH CASE ARCHITECTURE
SHOCK RESISTANCE A STEP AHEAD
As a result, watches like the Skindiver WT Professional X-15 Limited Edition, featuring the Hexaplex architecture, are the most impact-resistant and precise* timepieces ever crafted by Wolbrook.
*Micro-impacts are a leading cause of accuracy loss over time.
AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT: JAPANESE RELIABILITY & QUALITY
• 60 hours power-reserve
• Hacking-second
• Quick date setting
In-house modifications and operations:
• Modification of the date disk to a “Roulette” style disk with the date in black on odd days and red on even ones
• Control and setting with a tolerance of ±15 seconds and a beat error of 0.6ms
HESALITE GLASS: THE PRO’S CHOICE
To this day, above or under the ocean, in a cockpit, or even in space, the possibility of having tiny bits of glass floating around or having the face of the watch exposed to the elements is considered an unnecessary risk and a direct threat to mission success.
SKINDIVER WT PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW
ASSEMBLED IN FRANCE

TIME ZONES
TRACKING FUNCTION
Let’s say you are in Sebring, Florida, USA and you want the time in Le Mans, France.
1. Sebring follows the Eastern Time Zone / UTC-05:00 (defined by “-New York” on the bezel), then you need to rotate the bezel and put "-New York" on the hour marker just passed by the hour hand. If it's 12:30 in Sebring. Then you place "-New York" on the 12:00 marker.
2. Le Mans follows Paris time zone / UTC+01:00. Paris is a forward time zone (there is a little “+” in front), you read the bezel clockwise and you see that it indicates 18:00. So, it's 18:30 in Paris and Le Mans.
